Kimberly is working on finishing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at VCU in December 2017. She has a passion for teaching art to young students, and is excited to begin her first year working at Westminster! Kimberly has worked closely with young children for the last 5 years, including mentoring students at Carver Elementary School and volunteering to lead art activities during Vacation Bible School at her church. In addition, for the last 4 years she has overseen the care and been nanny to a family with three young children, which has included helping with homeschooling and tutoring.
As a teacher of art, I want to encourage students to explore the many possibilities that come with art-making by introducing them to a variety of art materials, and connecting the art world to daily parts of our lives. I believe art-making is a gift God has given us to be explored, both in the process of making and in the final product itself. I love connecting art back to its original creator, God, and helping students see His artistic creations and manifestations in everything. I look forward to encouraging students to unravel their creative potential, which I believe God has placed in all of us.
